This is New Jersey... Most people are surprised when they learn the location this photograph was made. I wanted a photograph that expressed the peaceful feeling our parks can provide for us and settled on this location. The weather for the day, overcast, light rain, around 60 degrees and windless, was perfect. The overcast sky provides for even soft light, and the lack of wind allowed me to have a slightly longer shutter speed, necessary for the effect in the water without losing the sharpness of the perfectly still foliage.
I am reminded of locations along the coast north of New Jersey when I revisit this photograph, and am pleased I was able to capture the feeling I sought when making the photograph.
