Creative Portraits

I don't think a portrait always involves a smiling subject looking happily into the camera; rather, a portrait is a photographic recording of a moment in life, something far more substantial than a smile and forced pose. My approach to portraiture is different; I usually will not pose my subject but rather allow them to find their natural position at which they feel comfortable and then make my photograph, sometimes without the subject even knowing an exposure was made - I don't look to satisfy a mold, instead, I create a feel and mood unique to my subject since it is our uniqueness as human beings which makes us stand out in a world of billions.
