It took me a long time to even find these dunes...we drove around Pismo Beach, California using a map trying to find where the "good" dunes were. After a few unsuccessful hours, frustrated and tired, I was about to give up on my search, but I decided to use my phone and some aerial maps. Almost immediately, I found the place I was looking for and began a race against the daylight to make it before the good light was gone. I polite woman granted me access to the beach through her yard and I found this composition about 15 minutes later. I made a few other negatives on the beach, however, this one is my favorite. Cortney was with me when I made this, and I kept thinking of Edward and Charis visiting the same dunes as we were, only many years before.
